Amazon's new initiative in India where customers can hand over soon-to-be-withdrawn ₹2000 notes to delivery agents and have the amount credited to their Amazon Pay Balance, providing a unique convenience for KYC customers.


On Wednesday, Amazon said that it will collect the soon-to-be-withdrawn rupees from Indian Customers. In a statement, Amazon said that “Don’t stress if stores are refusing to accept ₹2000 notes for payment”.

Since RBI (Central Bank of India) has announced that ₹2000 notes will not be accepted after the end of September.  Indians have begun using these legal tenders to pay for their daily essentials and even for online orders.

This E-commerce firm will allow its customers the flexibility to hand over the purple-pink currency to delivery agents and get the same credited to their balance. 

As Vikram Bansal, the whole-time director at Amazon Pay said The facility of topping up your Amazon Pay Balance by handing over cash to your delivery agents is a unique availability to KYC customers in India. 

Unlike the demonetization of 2016, This announcement hasn't disrupted the market. But still there’s a valid concern among people to watch out before it’s too late.
