In a significant move prioritizing driver safety, Porsche and Audi have announced recalls affecting over 62,000 vehicles across the United States. These recalls address critical issues ranging from airbag malfunctions to software glitches in instrument panels.​

Porsche Taycan Recall: Airbag Deactivation Risk

Affected Models: 2022–2023 Porsche Taycan

Units Recalled: 9,735

Issue: A manufacturing defect in the occupant classification system may inadvertently deactivate the front passenger airbag, increasing injury risk during a collision.

Remedy: Porsche dealers will replace the front passenger seat cushion with an optimized version at no cost to owners.

🔁 Porsche Macan EV Recall: Rearview Camera Malfunction

Affected Models: 2024–2025 Porsche Macan Electric

Units Recalled: 8,571

Issue: Software errors and potential moisture intrusion can lead to rearview camera failures, compromising rear visibility and increasing the risk of accidents.

Remedy: Dealers will update the software and inspect or replace the rearview camera housing as necessary, free of charge. 

Audi Recall: Instrument Panel Display Failure

Affected Models: 2021 Audi A6, A7, A8, Q7, Q8, RS6 Avant, RS7, RSQ8, S6, S7, S8, SQ7, SQ8, A6 Allroad

Units Recalled: 44,387

Issue: A software defect may cause the digital instrument cluster to shut down, leading to the loss of critical information such as speed, gear selection, and warning indicators.

Remedy: Audi dealers will perform a free software update to resolve the issue.

Owner Notifications

Audi Owners: Notification letters will be mailed by May 30, 2025.

Porsche Owners: Notifications for Taycan and Macan EV recalls will be sent by June 6, 2025.
