Now let us read Deutsche bank's campus placement process.
Well, this is how my friend told me about the process of campus placement. Read it in his words.
The Campus Placement
“Deutsche Bank representatives came to our college campus for hiring interns for various departments including technology, finance, management, and other domains. I am happy that I cleared it and got selected. There were four rounds with frequent intervals. I will let you know the questions which were asked during the campus placement process.”
Round 1:
- Introduce yourself in short.
- Tell me about your experience at this college.
- How do you know about Deutsche Bank?
- How does a business with a positive net income go bankrupt?
- Can you explain to me what is cash flow statement?
- Can a company with financial difficulties show positive cash flow?
Thus after it, there was a small written test and this is how my first round was finished.
Round 2:
It started with a group discussion and a small written test. Then there were some questions.
- How was your last round and are you feeling relaxed?
- What are the effects of an inventory write-down on the three financial statements?
- What do you mean by fair values?
- Give an example of a time when you had multiple choices and explain how you made your decision.
- What Does Cost Accounting? Do you know what the goals of cost accounting are?
This was an elimination round two candidates were eliminated here after this interview. Only the remaining 8 (including me) went for the further rounds which were tougher than these two.
Round 3:
There were ten multiple questions with vignettes. These questions took a lot of time. With these questions, they wanted to evaluate finance as well as reasoning skills along with the time management skills of candidates. Some of the questions were:
- When should a company consider issuing debt instead of equity?
- Can you explain Goodwill?
- What do you mean by Put Option?
- What is your stronghold in the finance domain?
- Why did you choose this company for an internship?
Round 4:
This was the last and final round of the intern hiring process and they eliminated two more candidates here. I and five others were selected for the internship at this bank. This was the round with HR and questions were about general smartness, quick wit, presence of mind, and listening skills.
- “In the middle of a pond is a single lily pad; the lily pad doubles in size every day and the pond is completely covered on the last day of the month (30 days). How long does it take for the pond to be half-covered?”
- Asked me about my family background.
- Where do you see yourself after 5 years from now in case you are selected?
- What motivates you to pursue a career in finance and banking?
“They also gave me chance to ask questions If I have any though I did not ask in the last three-round. I had some questions that I asked at the last round and then after a few hours, I was selected.”
Well, that's it!
As far as the secret is concerned then here it is!
Work hard! and chase your dreams. This is the most important secret for success. The way you were curious about this secret must be the way you should be curious for the knowledge of your domain and success will follow.
