Telecom company Bharti Airtel announced that Ajay Chitkara, CEO of Airtel Business, is resigning and the company will undergo a restructuring plan for its enterprise business division.

On June 26, telecom company Bharti Airtel announced that Ajay Chitkara, CEO of Airtel Business, has resigned and will continue in his role until the third week of August. As a part of this move, the company revealed a restructuring plan.

Airtel Business will now be divided into three distinct categories, each with its own leader. Ganesh Lakshminarayanan will oversee the local business section, Vani Venkatesh will head the global business division, and Ashish Arora will be in charge of Nxtra Data Centres.

The announcement regarding these changes was made by Bharti Airtel after trading hours on Monday

Gopal Vittal, managing director and CEO of Bharti Airtel said, “I look forward to working closely with Vani, Ganesh and Ashish to help scale this business. I want to acknowledge Ajay’s contributions. In his 23 long years with Airtel, he delivered significant impact. He has also built Airtel Business into a strong force. I wish him the very best for his future endeavours,".

Airtel Business provides information and communication technology services to a wide range of clients, including enterprises, governments, carriers, multinational corporations, and small and medium businesses. Additionally, it has established new business sectors for security, the Internet of Things (IoT), and communications provider as a service (CPaaS).

Following the announcement, Bharti Airtel's shares closed 0.52 percent lower at Rs 851.80 apiece on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on June 26.
