Hey there, automotive fans and everyday drivers! If you're driving a Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, or Ram vehicle, you'll want to catch up on the latest recall news. Recently, Chrysler's parent company Stellantis, announced multiple recalls for 2025 models due to multiple safety concerns. We know that recalls can be confusing, so let's do our best to break it down for you so you have an understanding of what to expect and what to do.
Pacifica Plug-In Hybrids: Brake Caliper Issues
Chrysler announced a recall for a small number of 2025 Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid minivans. We're talking about 8 vehicles! The problem? Loose front brake caliper brackets that weren't tightened enough during assembly. This could cause braking and steering issues and we don't think you want that on the road. If you're in possession of the vehicle, Chrysler will inspect and replace the front brake caliper brackets and bolts at no cost. Owner notification letters will be mailed on April 24, 2025, if you own one of these vehicles.
Ram 1500 Pickups: A Tire Pressure Display & Stability Control Error
If you're a Ram 1500 owner, know that over 10,000 2025 Ram 1500 pickups are being recalled for a software error that may result in incorrect tire pressure information on the instrument panel. Having incorrect tire pressure displayed could lead to overinflation of the tires, and in extreme cases, tire blowout. Separately, about 34,000 vehicles are involved in a safety improvement for a stability control defect caused by damaged front wheel bearing encoder rings, which could disable the electronic stability control system.
Jeep Cherokee: Power Transfer Unit Issue
Jeep is recalling more than 63,000 2017-2019 Cherokee SUVs because of an issue with the power transfer unit (PTU). The input shaft snap ring may have been poorly seated, leading to the PTU disengaging the transmission and the differential. This could cause the loss of drive power or park function, increasing the potential for a crash or unintentional vehicle rollaway.
Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger: Airbag Inflator Defect
Stellantis is recalling nearly 286,000 2018-2021 Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger sedans due to a defect in the side curtain airbag inflators. The inflators may rupture upon deployment and eject metal parts, which could injure or kill the vehicle's occupants.
