Kia has officially revealed the PV5, its first model in the brand’s new Platform Beyond Vehicles (PBV) lineup. This electric midsize van, available in both passenger and cargo versions, was showcased during Kia’s EV Day event in Tarragona, Spain. Alongside the PV5, Kia also unveiled the Concept EV2 subcompact crossover and EV4 compact sedan and hatchback.
While sales are set to begin this year in select markets, Kia has not yet confirmed whether the PV5 will be available in the United States.

The Kia PV5 is designed to cater to diverse mobility needs, from delivery services to passenger transport. The van will be offered in various configurations, including a cab-chassis model, allowing businesses to customize it further.

- Fast Charging: 10% to 80% in 30 minutes with a DC fast charger
Under stricter EPA testing, the real-world range is expected to be slightly lower.

Despite measuring just 175 inches in length, the PV5 makes efficient use of space:
- Passenger version: Can accommodate three rows of seats
- Cargo model: Offers up to 180 cubic feet of storage
For those needing even more space, Kia previewed the larger PV7 concept, stretching over 207 inches, at CES 2024.
Kia’s Expanding EV Strategy
Kia is not stopping with the PV5. The company is also developing a PBV taxi model, based on the Niro compact crossover, reinforcing its commitment to electric mobility solutions for diverse use cases.

- The PV5 will go on sale in Europe and Asia in late 2025.
- Additional global markets are planned for 2026, but U.S. availability remains unconfirmed.
