At the IIMS 2025 (Indonesia International Motor Show), Toyota introduced the Kijang Innova BEV Concept, an electric version of the popular Innova Crysta. While it retains the familiar design of the current model, there are several updates that give it a fresh look.

Modern Design Features

  • Front: The electric Innova features a closed-off grille, new LED headlamps with a connected DRL strip, and a reworked bumper for a sleek appearance.
  • Side: It sports 16-inch alloy wheels, chrome-finished door handles, and dual-tone ORVMs with integrated turn indicators.
  • Rear: The wrap-around tail lamps are connected by LED strips, adding a modern touch to the back of the vehicle.

Interior & Technology

Inside, the Innova BEV stays close to the Innova Crysta, offering:

  • Physical buttons and an infotainment system positioned at the center
  • Analog instrument cluster with an MID display
  • Convenient features like a wireless charger, ambient lighting, and a dual-tone interior
  • Comfortable seating with middle-row captain seats and rear-seat entertainment

Performance & Battery

  • Battery: Powered by a 59.3 kWh Lithium-ion battery
  • Electric Motor: Delivers 134 kW with a strong 700 Nm of torque
  • Battery Placement: Multiple smaller modules in the floorboard, with a larger unit positioned at the front in place of the engine bay

Launch & Future Possibility

While the Innova BEV Concept shows great promise with its electric powertrain and modern features, it’s still uncertain whether it will move to production or when it might launch in India. Toyota’s focus on electric mobility is clear, but the concept’s future remains to be seen.
