VinFast, the Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has made a significant impact in Indonesia's automotive market with the rapid delivery of its compact electric SUV, the VF 3. Within just two months of its launch, VinFast successfully delivered 400 VF 3 units to Indonesian dealers and customers, underscoring the vehicle's strong appeal and the company's efficient production capabilities. ​
🚗 VinFast VF 3: Compact Design Meets Urban Efficiency
The VF 3 is a mini electric SUV designed for urban environments. Its compact dimensions—measuring approximately 3.19 meters in length—make it ideal for navigating crowded city streets. Despite its size, the VF 3 offers seating for up to five passengers, providing practicality without compromising on comfort. The vehicle is equipped with a 32 kW (approximately 43 hp) electric motor and an 18.64 kWh lithium-ion phosphate battery, delivering a range of up to 215 km on a single charge.
Strategic Launch in Indonesia
VinFast officially introduced the VF 3 to the Indonesian market during the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) in February 2025. The vehicle is priced at IDR 227.65 million (approximately USD 14,000), making it an affordable option for consumers seeking eco-friendly transportation solutions. To further incentivize early adopters, VinFast offered a cash reduction of IDR 7.85 million (around USD 480) for the first 1,000 vehicles.

Recognizing the importance of a robust charging infrastructure, VinFast has partnered with V-Green, its charging station development division, to establish 30,000 EV chargers across Indonesia. This initiative aims to alleviate range anxiety and support the country's transition towards sustainable transportation.
