In a significant change to its examination system, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced that the Chartered Accountancy (CA) Final exams will now be conducted three times a year. With this decision, students will have more opportunities to appear for the exam and plan their careers effectively.

New Exam Schedule

The ICAI has confirmed that the CA Final exams will now be held in January, May, and September every year. This brings uniformity across all three levels of the CA course, as the CA Intermediate and Foundation exams were already being conducted three times a year.

Additionally, the Post Qualification Course (PQC) in Information Systems Audit will also undergo a change. Earlier held twice a year in June and December, the Assessment Test for this course will now take place three times a year in February, June, and October.

Impact on Students

ICAI President CA Charanjot Singh Nanda called this a historic decision that will greatly benefit both students and members. He stated,

“These epoch-making decisions will significantly benefit both students and members, offering them enhanced opportunities for success. This move marks a new era in the way we support and guide our future Chartered Accountants.”

This decision is expected to ease the pressure on students by offering more flexibility and reducing long waiting periods between exam attempts.
