The Maharashtra School Education Department has announced that applications for Right to Education (RTE) Admissions 2025-26 are now open. Under the RTE Act, 25% of seats in self-financed, unaided, and municipal schools are reserved for children from weaker and disadvantaged sections. Parents can apply online from January 14, 2025, to January 27, 2025, at student.maharashtra.gov.in.

Who Can Apply?

Children from families with an annual income of less than ₹1 lakh are eligible to apply for these reserved seats. This initiative ensures that children from economically weaker sections (EWS) and disadvantaged groups have access to quality education.

How to Apply?

  1. Choose Schools: Parents can select up to 10 schools. The distance between home and school must be accurate and calculated using Google Maps.
  2. Fill Details: Provide correct information such as address, income proof, caste certificate, and disability certificate (if required).
  3. Submit Early: It is advised to apply early to avoid last-minute issues. Only one application per child is allowed.
