In a significant announcement for medical aspirants across the country, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the results for NEET UG 2024. The results were released on June 4, 2024, revealing that 67 candidates have achieved the All India Rank (AIR) 1, scoring an impressive 99.997129 percentile. Earlier on 30th May, the answer key for the same was declared. Among the top scorers are Ved Sunilkumar Shende from Maharashtra, Syed Arifin Yusuf M from Tamil Nadu, and Mridul Manya Anand from Delhi.
This year saw a remarkable turnout with over 24 lakh students registering for the exam, a 16.85% increase from the previous year. Out of these, 23,33,297 candidates appeared for the exam, with 13,16,000 successfully passing. The increase in registrations included a notable rise in both male and female candidates, indicating a growing interest in medical education among Indian youth.

The NEET UG 2024 examination was conducted on May 5, 2024, across 557 cities in India and 14 international cities. The overall attendance was 96.94%, showcasing the dedication of the candidates. Top Performers and State-wise results
A diverse group of candidates from various states achieved top ranks in NEET UG 2024. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Delhi produced several top rankers, with Maharashtra’s Ved Sunilkumar Shende leading the general category. In terms of state-wise performance, Uttar Pradesh topped the charts with 1,65,047 candidates passing the exam, followed by Rajasthan with 1,21,240 candidates, and Maharashtra with 1,42,665 candidates.
Interestingly, Rajasthan produced the highest number of toppers, with 11 candidates securing AIR 1. Additionally, 14 female candidates achieved the AIR 1 rank, highlighting the increasing presence of women in the field of medical education.

Counseling and Next Steps
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will soon announce the counseling dates for the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, while state authorities will handle the counseling for the remaining 85% of seats. The required documents for counseling include the NEET UG 2024 admit and rank card, application copy, 10th and 12th-grade mark sheets and certificates, birth certificate, category certificate (if applicable), provisional allotment letter, valid identity proof, passport-size photographs, address proof, and migration certificate.
