Popular Telugu actor Allu Arjun has been arrested in connection with a tragic stampede that occurred during the premiere of his latest film, Pushpa 2: The Rule. The incident took place on December 4 at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, leading to the death of a woman and injuries to several others.
According to reports, the stampede broke out when a huge crowd of fans gathered at the theatre, hoping to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun. The chaotic scene led to the death of 35-year-old Revathi, who was in the theatre with her nine-year-old son, Sri Teja. While Revathi lost her life, her son suffered from suffocation and is currently being treated in the hospital.
The police arrested Allu Arjun on Friday after an investigation revealed that the incident could have been prevented. A police team from Chikkadpally station arrived at the actor’s residence in Jubilee Hills and took him into custody. He was later taken to the police station for questioning.
A case has been filed against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management for negligence and causing harm. The charges are based on a complaint from the family of the deceased.
