Apple TV’s hit sci-fi thriller Severance has officially been renewed for a third season. Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed the news on social media, writing, "Season 3 of Severance available on request."
The announcement comes just as Severance has surpassed Ted Lasso to become the most-watched show on the platform. The Season 2 finale, Cold Harbor, is set to premiere on Friday night on Apple TV+.

Interestingly, director Ben Stiller once asked former U.S. President Barack Obama to make a cameo in the show. Stiller reached out through Obama’s lawyer, and the response was both flattering and disappointing. Obama replied, "Hey Ben, big fan of the show, love Season 1, can’t wait for Season 2. Don’t think I have time in my schedule to make this happen."
