Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna’s film Chhaava is quickly becoming Bollywood's first major hit of 2025. After a strong opening weekend, the film has also passed an important milestone by doing well on its first Monday. The movie earned Rs 24 crore on Monday, which is almost double the combined earnings of the next seven highest-grossing Hindi films on their first Mondays.

This Monday collection is not only impressive compared to other films this year, but it also outperformed movies like Sky Force (Rs 7 crore), Deva (Rs 2.75 crore), Emergency (Rs 1.05 crore), and others.

So far, Chhaava has earned Rs 140.5 crore in India and Rs 164.75 crore worldwide. The film's reported budget was Rs 130 crore, so it has already made a good profit, marking it as a major success in Hindi cinema.

The film had strong occupancy rates throughout the day, starting with 17.80% in the morning and peaking at 47.46% during night screenings. Rashmika Mandanna, who has had several successful films recently, continues her winning streak with Chhaava.

Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava is based on the life of Sambhaji, the second ruler of the Maratha Confederacy, and is adapted from the Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant.
