Deb Mukherjee made his acting debut in 1965 and became a familiar face in the Hindi film industry. He worked in several memorable films, including Adhikar, Ek Bar Mooskura Do, Do Aankhen, Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki, Baaton Baaton Mein, and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander.

Born into a prestigious film family, Deb Mukherjee was the son of Sashadhar Mukherjee, the founder of Filmalaya Studios. His mother, Satidevi Mukherjee, was the sister of legendary actors Ashok Kumar, Anup Kumar, and Kishore Kumar.
The Mukherjee-Samarth family has long been a powerhouse in Bollywood. Several of Deb Mukherjee’s relatives, including his niece Rani Mukerji, cousins Kajol and Tanisha, and actress Sharbani Mukherjee, have carried forward the family’s cinematic legacy. Bollywood Stars Join Family at Mumbai Funeral
Deb Mukherjee’s funeral took place at Pawan Hans Crematorium in Juhu, Mumbai. Many members of the Mukherjee family, including Rani Mukerji, Kajol, Tanisha, and Sharbani Mukherjee, gathered to bid him a final farewell. His son-in-law, filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker, was also present to pay his last respects.

The couple was in Alibaug celebrating Alia’s 32nd birthday when they received the news of Deb Mukherjee’s passing. They were later seen arriving in Mumbai to stand by Ayan and his family during this difficult time.
