Gene Hackman and Wife Betsy Arakawa Found Dead at Home
Legendary Hollywood actor Gene Hackman, 95, and his wife, classical pianist Betsy Arakawa, 63, were found dead in their Santa Fe, New Mexico home. The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the tragic news on Thursday. Their pet dog was also discovered dead at the scene.
No Signs of Foul Play
Sheriff Adan Mendoza stated that no foul play is suspected, but the cause of death remains unknown. Authorities believe the couple passed away around midnight on February 27.
“I want to assure the community that there is no immediate danger,” said Mendoza in a statement.

A Legendary Career in Hollywood
Gene Hackman, a two-time Academy Award winner, had an illustrious career spanning decades. He gained fame with his role in Bonnie and Clyde (1967) and later won his first Oscar for The French Connection (1971), where he played the tough detective Jimmy “Popeye” Doyle. He secured his second Academy Award for Unforgiven (1992), a Western directed by Clint Eastwood.
