Grammy-nominated singer and actress Halle Bailey has been granted a temporary restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, rapper and YouTuber DDG (Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.), following allegations of physical, emotional, and verbal abuse. The couple, who share a 17-month-old son named Halo, ended their relationship in October 2024.

Detailed Allegations and Court Proceedings

Bailey's court filings detail multiple instances of alleged abuse:

  • January 2025 Incident: During a visitation exchange, DDG allegedly became verbally aggressive and physically assaulted Bailey, resulting in a chipped tooth and bruises.

  • March 2025 Incident: DDG reportedly entered Bailey's home without permission, sent her a photo of her bed with a suggestive message, and later damaged her Ring camera and discarded her phone during a confrontation.

Bailey has submitted photographic evidence of her injuries to support her claims.

Court-Imposed Restrictions on DDG

The Los Angeles court has imposed the following restrictions on DDG:

  • Maintain a distance of at least 100 yards from Bailey and their son, Halo.

  • Prohibited from contacting Bailey directly or indirectly.

  • Forbidden from possessing firearms.

  • Required to refrain from discussing Bailey or their relationship on social media platforms.

A hearing is scheduled for June 6 to determine whether the restraining order will be extended.

Custody Considerations and Future Plans

Bailey has requested full custody of their son, Halo, during her upcoming two-month work trip to Italy. She has also petitioned the court to mandate DDG's participation in a 52-week Batterer Intervention Program.

Conclusion

Halle Bailey's legal actions underscore the seriousness of her allegations against DDG. As the case proceeds, the court's decisions will have significant implications for both parties and their son, Halo.
