Dhanashree Verma, a well-known choreographer and social media star, has released a new song titled "Dekha Ji Dekha Maine." The song touches on infidelity and domestic violence in marriage. The release came on the same day she was granted a divorce from cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal by a Mumbai family court.
The song, produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, features Jyoti Nooran’s vocals and music by Jaani. One of the lyrics says:
"Dil tera bacha hai, nibhana bhool jata hai. Naya khilauna dekh ke, purana bhool jata hai "
"Your heart is so naive, it forgets to stay loyal. The moment it finds a new toy, it forgets the old one."
A Powerful Music Video
Set in Rajasthan, the music video stars Dhanashree and actor Ishwak Singh from Paatal Lok. They play a royal couple, showing scenes of domestic abuse and betrayal. In one shot, the husband slaps his wife in front of a friend, and in another, he gets intimate with another woman right in front of her.
Dhanashree called her role "emotionally intense" and said,
"This was one of the most emotionally charged performances I’ve done. I hope it connects deeply with the audience."
Divorce Settlement
Meanwhile, Dhanashree and Chahal’s divorce was finalized, with the cricketer agreeing to pay ₹4.75 crore as alimony. The couple had tied the knot in December 2020.
The song’s release has sparked discussions about its timing and whether it reflects Dhanashree’s personal life. Many fans have taken to social media to express their views.
