Keanu Reeves is unsure about returning for John Wick 5 due to physical challenges. He shares his concerns about his knees in a recent interview.

Keanu Reeves is unsure about returning for John Wick 5, despite his eagerness to reprise his iconic role. While promoting his new villain role in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 on an American talk show, Reeves admitted that he's concerned about his physical ability to handle the action-packed scenes. “You can never say never — but my knees right now are saying, ‘You can’t do another John Wick. So my heart [wants to], but I don’t know if my knees can do it,’” he shared with a laugh.

The John Wick franchise, which began in 2014, has been a massive success. Reeves plays the title character, a former assassin seeking revenge against those who killed his beloved dog. Reflecting on the first film's 10th anniversary, he called the experience a "gift." He appreciated the talent and teamwork involved, recalling how challenging yet rewarding the stunts could be: “Sometimes you throw up or puke, but that’s what makes it good.”

At the same anniversary event, directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch praised Reeves, stating that there is no other actor who could play John Wick. "He brings passion, physicality, and an emotional depth that makes you feel for him," Leitch explained.

The John Wick franchise has grossed over $1 billion worldwide, with four films, a prequel series called The Continental, video games, and comic books. Reeves also made a cameo as John Wick in the upcoming spinoff film From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, further expanding the beloved universe.
