Mumbai Police visited comedian Kunal Kamra’s residence on Monday in connection with a case related to his joke about Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The case was registered following a complaint by Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel.
Legal Trouble for Kunal Kamra
Kamra, known for his political satire, has been facing legal issues after being accused of making derogatory comments during a stand-up show. The Khar police had already sent him two summons after filing an FIR on March 24. Additionally, three more defamation cases have been filed against him in Maharashtra.

Shiv Sena’s Response
Shiv Sena leaders have strongly reacted to Kamra’s comments. Rahool Kanal from the Yuva Sena stated that whenever Kamra comes to Mumbai, he will be "welcomed in Shiv Sena style." Kanal, who was earlier arrested for vandalizing The Habitat—where Kamra's show took place—urged the comedian to face legal proceedings in Mumbai.
Kamra Stands His Ground
Despite the threats and legal pressure, Kamra has refused to apologize. He condemned the vandalism and stated, "I will not apologize... I don't fear this mob & I will not be hiding under my bed, waiting for this to die down."
Kamra currently resides in Tamil Nadu and has been granted interim protection from arrest by the Madras High Court. However, the legal battle continues, and his relief is only valid until April 7.
