'Pushpa 2: The Rule creates history, crossing Rs. 1000 crore globally in just 6 days. Starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, the blockbuster sets new benchmarks in Indian cinema.'

Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna's Pushpa 2: The Rule has taken the Indian film industry by storm, becoming the fastest movie to earn Rs. 1000 crore worldwide. Directed by Sukumar, the film’s box office journey has been nothing short of extraordinary, reaching this monumental milestone in just 6 days.

After an explosive start with a Rs. 164.25 crore gross opening, Pushpa 2 continued to break records throughout its opening weekend. Although its collections dipped slightly on Monday and Tuesday, the film remained a powerhouse, grossing an estimated Rs. 52.50 crore net on its sixth day across all languages in India. The Hindi markets played a big role, contributing Rs. 38 crore on Tuesday alone, taking the total Hindi collection past Rs. 370 crore. This achievement knocked Jawan from its top spot as the highest first-week grosser in Hindi cinema.

Regionally, the film maintained a strong presence. Telugu states contributed around Rs. 10-11 crore on Day 6, Karnataka added Rs. 4 crore, and Tamil Nadu and Kerala together brought in Rs. 3.5 crore. Overall, Tuesday’s collection was estimated to be Rs. 60-65 crore, pushing the six-day domestic gross to Rs. 770 crore, a record for any Indian film.

Globally, the film had its eyes set on crossing the Rs. 950 crore mark, but in a pleasant surprise, it surpassed Rs. 1000 crore, cementing its place in cinematic history. The film’s official social media handle proudly announced, “1000 crores worldwide gross accomplished by #Pushpa2 in just 6 days! Another all-time record!!”

With this success, Pushpa 2 joins the elite club of films that have grossed over Rs. 1000 crore, including Dangal (Rs. 2000 crore), Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, RRR, KGF: Chapter 2, Kalki 2898 AD, and Shah Rukh Khan's blockbusters Jawan and Pathaan.

The film marks a significant milestone for both Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna. For Allu Arjun, it is his first film to cross the Rs. 1000 crore mark, while for Rashmika, it’s her first as a lead actress. Released on December 5, Pushpa 2 is riding high on fan support and the legacy of its predecessor, Pushpa: The Rise, which was released in December 2021.

By December 9, the film had already earned Rs. 285.7 crore, surpassing the first-week Hindi collections of KGF 2 (Rs. 268 crore) and Baahubali 2 (Rs. 247 crore). Pushpa 2 is also on track to exceed the lifetime collections of RRR (Rs. 272 crore) and Kalki 2898 AD (Rs. 293 crore) in Hindi.

This phenomenal success is a significant moment for Indian cinema, especially after the tough times faced by the industry due to the Covid-19 pandemic and its aftermath. Pushpa 2 has shown that the industry is not only recovering but thriving, setting new records and raising expectations for future releases.
