Kannada actor and director Rishab Shetty will be playing the role of the legendary warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the upcoming film The Pride of Bharat. Directed by Sandeep Singh, the first look of the film was revealed on the occasion of Shivaji Maharaj’s 395th birth anniversary.
The first-look poster shows Rishab Shetty dressed in royal attire, standing before a grand idol of a goddess. The powerful visuals reflect the bravery and greatness of Shivaji Maharaj. Director Sandeep Singh shared his excitement about the project, calling it an honor to bring the king’s inspiring story to life.
Sandeep took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, "On the 395th Birth Anniversary of the greatest warrior king, #ThePrideOfBharat #ChhatrapatiShivajiMaharaj, we proudly present the first look, showcasing his strength and devotion. This is a supreme honor to share his extraordinary saga of bravery, honor, and Swarajya. Conquering cinemas worldwide on 21st January 2027!"
The film is set to release in theaters on January 21, 2027, and promises to be an epic story of courage and patriotism.
Apart from this, Rishab Shetty has other big projects lined up. He will play Lord Hanuman in Jai Hanuman, directed by Prashanth Varma, which is a sequel to the hit superhero film HanuMan. He is also working on Kantara: Chapter 1, a prequel to his successful film Kantara, which is set to release on October 2, 2025.
