Comedian Samay Raina has reportedly canceled his upcoming stand-up shows in Gujarat after facing backlash linked to the India’s Got Latent controversy. The decision comes after the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) issued threats against his performances in the state.

Shows Removed from Booking Platforms

Raina was scheduled to perform four shows in three cities—Surat (April 17), Vadodara (April 18), and Ahmedabad (April 18 & 20). However, these shows have now been canceled, and tickets have been removed from BookMyShow, as reported by PTI.

VHP Gujarat spokesperson Hitendarsinh Rajput confirmed the cancellations, citing “public outrage” as the reason. Another VHP leader, Ashvin Patel, stated that the organizers likely decided to cancel the shows due to widespread anger and warned against hosting similar events in Gujarat.

What Is the Ranveer Allahbadia Controversy?

The controversy began when YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, made an inappropriate comment during an episode of India’s Got Latent. In the video, he asked a contestant a controversial question about sex and parents, sparking outrage. The episode also featured comedian Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, and other guests.

Following the backlash, legal complaints were filed against Allahbadia, Raina, and the show’s organizers for using offensive language. The controversy continues to stir strong reactions, affecting Raina’s comedy tour in Gujarat.
