Gauahar Khan defends Ranbir Kapoor amid backlash, calling criticism unfair and highlighting his caring side at the Raj Kapoor Film Festival.

Actor Gauahar Khan has spoken up in support of her Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year co-star Ranbir Kapoor, who recently faced backlash over claims of ignoring his wife, Alia Bhatt, at the Raj Kapoor Film Festival in Mumbai. Gauahar called the criticism "unfair" and highlighted Ranbir’s caring nature.

Gauahar's Response

Gauahar shared her thoughts on Instagram, re-posting a fan-made video titled The Ranbir Kapoor They Don’t Post About. The video showcases moments from the event where Ranbir is seen being affectionate towards Alia and helping Randhir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan’s father.

Sharing the video, Gauahar wrote, “Seriously so unfair! I’m glad there are such posts that show how unfair certain posts are, that can unnecessarily put someone in a certain light. Ranbir is a gentleman!"

The fan video also criticized how a small, out-of-context clip was used to spark negativity. Its caption read, “They cut a 2-sec clip out of context and run a whole lot of negative PR with it. Meanwhile, this is the reality.”

Alia Bhatt subtly agreed with the sentiment, giving the post a like.

Constant Scrutiny

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, one of Bollywood’s most high-profile couples, often face harsh scrutiny on social media. Critics have labeled Ranbir as "unsupportive" and "toxic" in the past. Recently, a clip of Alia discussing how Ranbir asked her to wipe off her lipstick went viral, fueling more online criticism.

Despite the noise, Ranbir's sister, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, dismissed the negativity in a Zoom interview, saying, “They adore each other. They’ve created the most beautiful child, Raha. They are amazing parents. I don’t think they care about what people say.”

Support for Ranbir

Gauahar’s post and the fan video have brought attention to Ranbir’s softer side, which often gets overshadowed by selective online narratives. The support from Gauahar and Alia sends a clear message: actions speak louder than viral clips.
