About Deva
Deva is an action-packed thriller about ACP Dev Ambre, a hot-headed cop and womanizer, played by Shahid Kapoor. His life takes a turn when he loses his memory while investigating his friend’s murder. The film is a remake of the 2013 Malayalam film Mumbai Police, but with key changes, especially in the climax. Pooja Hegde plays Diya Sathaye, a journalist and Dev’s love interest.
Audience and Critics’ Response
Deva received mixed reviews from critics and audiences. While Shahid’s performance was widely praised, some felt the storyline was predictable. A review by Hindustan Times stated, "Deva had the potential to give us a massy and unpredictable character, but it delivers a predictable story despite an in-form Shahid Kapoor."
With a decent start at the box office, it remains to be seen how Deva performs in the coming days.
