In a significant development, the Supreme Court has granted interim protection from arrest to YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as The Beer Biceps, in connection with his controversial remarks made during an episode of India's Got Latent show. This ruling follows the registration of multiple FIRs against him in Mumbai, Guwahati, and Jaipur, accusing him of using offensive language on the show hosted by comedian Samay Raina.

While granting Allahbadia relief from arrest, the bench consisting of Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh condemned his remarks, labeling them as "dirty" and "perverted." The court expressed concerns over the impact of his language, particularly on parents, daughters, and society as a whole. Justice Surya Kant remarked, "The language you have used is not just offensive, it is shameful for parents, for sisters, and for the entire society."

  1. Cooperation with Investigation:
    Allahbadia must join the investigation when summoned by the authorities and fully cooperate with the ongoing probe.

  2. No Counsel During Investigation:
    Allahbadia is required to cooperate with investigators without being accompanied by any counsel during police interrogations.

  3. Deposit Passport:
    He is instructed to deposit his passport with the Investigating Officer at the Thane police station.

  4. No Leaving the Country:
    Allahbadia cannot leave the country without permission from the Supreme Court.

  5. No Further Shows:
    He or his associates are prohibited from airing any further episodes of shows until further orders.

Protection Against Threats:

The Supreme Court also granted Allahbadia the liberty to approach local police in Maharashtra and Assam for protection against any threats to his life.
