Comedian Samay Raina is reportedly struggling emotionally after the controversy surrounding his show India's Got Latent, which led to multiple FIRs against him and the show's makers. YouTuber Shwetabh Gangwar, a close friend of Samay, revealed that he spoke to him recently and found him deeply affected.
Samay Raina Feels Broken?
In a now-deleted video, Shwetabh shared that Samay sounded extremely low during their conversation. "He is a broken man. Initially, he seemed fine, but the last time we talked, he was depressed, sad, and scared," he said, as reported by Free Press Journal.
Shwetabh also revealed that he took a break from social media because he felt helpless about not being able to support Samay. He added that other creators involved in the controversy, including Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Mukhija, and Ashish Chanchlani, were also facing tough times.
Samay Raina Reacts to Controversy
Currently, Samay is in Canada for his live shows and has requested time until March 17 to return to India and provide his official statement.
A fan who attended one of his Canada shows shared his experience on Facebook, describing how Samay appeared exhausted, with dark circles and unkempt hair. The comedian even joked about the controversy, saying, "Thanks for paying my lawyer’s fees," and referenced BeerBiceps (Ranveer Allahbadia) during his performance.
Supreme Court's Reaction
On March 2, during a hearing on Ranveer Allahbadia’s case, the Supreme Court expressed concern over comments made by one of the involved comedians abroad. Without naming Samay, Justice Kant criticized him for making remarks about the case while in Canada, warning that the court has jurisdiction over such matters but chooses not to take action due to their young age.
The controversy continues, with Samay Raina and others awaiting further legal developments.
