Actor Tom Welling, best known for playing Clark Kent/Superman on the hit TV series Smallville, was reportedly arrested in California on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI).

According to TMZ, the 47-year-old actor was taken into custody in the early hours of Monday in Yreka, California. Law enforcement officers allegedly found Welling in an Arby’s parking lot just after midnight. Reports indicate that his blood alcohol level was at or above 0.08%, which is the legal limit in California. Following the arrest, the Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office released his mugshot.

Arrest Came After Wife’s Birthday Celebration

The arrest happened shortly after Welling had celebrated his wife Jessica Rose Lee’s birthday. On Sunday, he posted a heartfelt message on Instagram for his wife, calling her an “angel” and thanking her for making their dreams come true.
