Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya tied the knot with renowned Carnatic singer and Bharatanatyam artist Sivasri Skandaprasad on Thursday in a grand traditional ceremony at Palace Grounds, Bengaluru. The wedding was a blend of Kannada and Tamil rituals, honoring the couple’s cultural heritage.
The ceremony was attended by several political leaders and dignitaries, including Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and Karnataka BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa, who extended their blessings and best wishes to the newlyweds.

A Love Story Rooted in Music
Tejasvi Surya, a two-time Lok Sabha MP and the President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), first met Sivasri during a music concert in Chennai. Their shared love for Indian culture and music strengthened their bond. According to sources close to the couple, their relationship blossomed over time, leading to this joyous union.
Sivasri, originally from Chennai, is a well-known Carnatic musician and Bharatanatyam artist. She pursued bio-engineering at Sastra University but later dedicated herself entirely to the arts. She also holds a degree in Bharatanatyam from the University of Madras and is the Founder of Ahuti, an initiative promoting Indian cultural heritage among young learners.

Sivasri has gained national recognition for her devotional music and artistic performances. With over 1 lakh Instagram followers and more than 2 lakh YouTube subscribers, her work has captivated audiences across India. Ahead of the Ram Temple consecration in Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised her devotional Kannada rendition, acknowledging her role in preserving India’s cultural heritage.
