Telangana Assembly debates Allu Arjun's response to Pushpa 2 stampede, with accusations of ignoring the tragedy during the premiere event.

The tragic stampede at the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre on December 4 has been discussed in the Telangana Assembly. AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi made serious claims against actor Allu Arjun, alleging that the actor showed a lack of concern even after being informed about the death of a woman and the hospitalization of a child during the incident.

In the assembly, Owaisi revealed that he did not want to name the "famous film star" but felt the need to bring attention to the issue. He claimed that when the actor was informed about the stampede, which led to the tragic loss of a woman's life and injuries to children, he responded by smiling and saying, “Now the film will be a hit.”

Owaisi further accused Allu Arjun of ignoring the situation. He said that even though the actor was aware of the deaths, he went ahead to watch the film and waved at his fans while leaving, rather than checking on the victims. He expressed disbelief at the lack of humanity, emphasizing that he personally ensures safety during public rallies to prevent such incidents.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also weighed in on the issue, criticizing the Sandhya Theatre management for failing to secure permission from the police for the event. The police had reportedly turned down the request for security on December 3 due to the location of the theatre. Reddy also condemned Allu Arjun for holding a ‘road show’ and waving at fans from the sunroof of his car, despite the tragedy that had occurred.

Reddy added that the police had to forcefully remove Allu Arjun from the theatre after he refused to leave, even when informed about the deaths. According to Reddy, the police had been initially blocked by the theatre management from meeting the actor and had to warn him about the possibility of arrest if he didn’t comply.

The incident took place when Allu Arjun, along with his wife Sneha Reddy and co-star Rashmika Mandanna, visited Sandhya Theatre for the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule. The actor's presence sparked a stampede as fans rushed to see him, which led to the death of a woman and left her young son in critical condition.

Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13 in connection with the incident but was released on interim bail by the Telangana High Court on December 14. The actor has apologized to the family of the victim, but he has not yet met them as his legal team has advised against it.
