Varun Dhawan recently got emotional while discussing the sudden death of his driver, Manoj, who had been with him for 26 years. He shared that Manoj's passing deeply affected him and changed the way he viewed life. Varun admitted that he had been living in a "bubble" and believed he understood life, but the loss of Manoj made him realize how little he truly knew. "There is a Varun Dhawan before and after 35," he said, reflecting on how his perspective shifted after the tragedy.

Varun recalled how close he was to Manoj and the emotional impact of his death. “I was very close to Manoj. He passed away suddenly while we were working. I did CPR, we rushed him to Lilavati Hospital, but he passed away in my arms. It was hard to see how casual his passing was. It just happened like that,” he said.

The actor revealed that Manoj's death affected both his personal life and his career, with his work slowing down. “My work also became less. I am having a release after two years. It definitely hit me hard,” Varun shared.

To cope with his grief, Varun turned to religious texts such as the Ramayana, Bhagavad Gita, and Mahabharata. He explained that he began reading these texts to find answers to his many questions and to help him move forward. "You have to move forward as a human being," he said, explaining how these incidents shake you but shouldn't make you stagnant.

Varun also mentioned that Manoj's death occurred during the Covid-19 pandemic. Although Manoj had recovered from the virus, he suffered a fatal heart attack a week later, which took a toll on Varun's mental well-being.
