Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented her eighth consecutive Union Budget in Parliament today, highlighting key areas of focus, with agriculture being a top priority.

The PM Dhandhanya Krishi Yojna, a major initiative under the budget, is set to cover 100 districts with low agricultural productivity. This plan aims to boost crop production and improve storage facilities at the panchayat level.

The scheme will benefit around 1.7 crore farmers, with the government planning to collaborate with state authorities for its successful implementation. The goal is to create more growth opportunities for farmers across the country.

In addition, global agricultural practices will be incorporated into the sector, with a special focus on the cultivation of pulses, such as urad, toor, and masoor, as part of the government's new programme.
