This tragic event is not an isolated occurrence in Maharashtra. Just last month, a major fire broke out in the industrial area of Dombivli in Thane district on May 23, resulting in the deaths of five people and severe injuries to 56 others. The fire, accompanied by massive smoke, was caused by a boiler explosion at the Amber Chemical Company.
Additionally, on January 18, another explosion at a chemical factory in Thane resulted in the death of one worker and injuries to four others. The blast led to a significant fire, causing tempos and vehicles parked nearby to catch fire as chemicals filled in drums exploded and spilt.
Following the Nagpur explosion, former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh emphasized the urgency of the situation, highlighting the need for immediate investigation and accountability. The presence of a team from the explosives department indicates the seriousness with which the authorities are handling the incident.
