A student named Pravallika (24) from Warangal, committed suicide in a private hostel of Ashok Nagar. She was there for government exams.
Reportedly, The girl was upset after a series of recruitment tests got canceled. This news spread rapidly in the area of Ashoknagar, which is a hub to several hostels and accommodations.
Several other job aspirants gathered in large numbers at the hostel, which later created a huge protest on the road, thereby stopping the police from entering the premises.
According to police, On Friday Night, Pravallika was found dead in her room. Her friends stated that she was upset as the trend of the exams got canceled.
Before permitting the victim's body to be moved for a post-mortem examination, protesters raised shouts demanding justice for Pravallika and the thousands of applicants preparing for recruitment tests. The standoff persisted until the latest reports arrived.
Police in Chikkadpally have notified Pravallika's parents and launched an investigation into the suicide.A police officer was also quoted by ANI as adding that Pravalika apologized to her parents in a suicide note that she left behind for not doing "anything for them." The situation is now being investigated, according to police sources.
