The case has been rescheduled for the next hearing on September 5 by the seats of Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan.

Senior Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, representing Kejriwal, claimed that a counter-affidavit was intentionally filed late on August 22, around 8 pm, with the intention of not reaching the seats in time. This statement was highlighted during the hearing, raising concerns about procedure fairness.
Justice Surya Kant directed the CBI to file a response to another plea within two days and noted that while one affidavit had been submitted in one case, there was a need for clarity on the other. The CBI has accused Kejriwal of politically informing the case and claiming his involvement in a criminal scheme. The central agency argued that actions taken by former Delhi Minister Manish Sisodia were conducted with Kejriwal's knowledge and at his direction.

In response, the Supreme Court granted time for the CBI to file a counter-affidavit and for Kejriwal to submit any response. The seat has postponed further proceedings until September 5, providing both parties time to present their arguments and evidence.
This case revolves around the Delhi excise policy, which has drawn significant political and legal attention. Kejriwal’s legal team is challenging the circumstances surrounding his arrest, while the CBI says that the case involves serious allegations of misconduct and conspiracy.
