In a shocking incident today, nine individuals sustained injuries in a bomb blast at the renowned Rameshwaram Cafe in Kundalahalli, as confirmed by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah during a press briefing. The explosive incident, captured on CCTV, has prompted swift action from law enforcement agencies.
Investigation Reveals IED Used in Rameshwaram Cafe Attack
Earlier, local police initiated efforts to determine the cause of the explosion at The Rameshwaram Cafe. However, following the arrival of a specialized team comprising the National Investigation Agency (NIA), bomb squad, and forensics laboratory, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah informed reporters that an improvised explosive device (IED) was responsible for the attack.
Siddaramaiah stated, "There's information that around 12.30 pm, there was an explosion. And that there was a bag. The investigation is on... I am getting to know that it was an IED. The investigation is on."
Anti-Terror Laws Invoked as Investigation Progresses
In response to the incident, the police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) under the anti-terror laws, including the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Explosive Substances Act. This legal action underlines the severity of the incident and the intent to swiftly bring the perpetrators to justice.
BJP's Bengaluru South MP, Tejasvi Surya, took to social media to share insights from a conversation with the cafe owner, emphasizing that the blast resulted from a bag left by a customer, not a cylinder explosion. The injured individuals, treated at Brookfield Hospital, are reportedly out of danger, as stated by Karnataka Police Chief Alok Mohan.
