In the 2025 Union Budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that Mudra loans will now be available to homestays, offering financial support to boost the hospitality sector. This move aims to encourage the growth of homestays as a viable accommodation option for travelers, benefiting small businesses in the tourism industry.

Additionally, the government will focus on promoting medical tourism under the "Heal in India" initiative. The plan is to partner with the private sector to position India as a global leader in medical tourism, attracting international patients seeking quality healthcare services.

These measures are expected to create new employment opportunities and elevate the country’s hospitality and healthcare sectors, making them more competitive on the global stage.
