Why Is Aurangzeb’s Tomb Controversial?
Aurangzeb, who ruled from 1658 to 1707, is known for his strict religious policies, including:
- Destroying Hindu temples
- Imposing jizya tax on non-Muslims
- Conflicts with Maratha rulers
Right-wing groups argue that his grave should be removed as it represents historical oppression. However, critics believe that such demands fuel communal tensions.
