In the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, an army officer, four soldiers, and a policeman were slain. Less than a week had passed since a horrific incident in the Kathua district claimed the lives of five Army personnel before the attack in Doda. After a gang of militants with heavy weapons ambushed their cars, Kathua became the latest flashpoint for violence in Jammu & Kashmir against both civilians and security personnel.

The Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, denounced the Union government, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party, for what he called "repeated security lapses" in the area. In order to safeguard both people and security forces, he demanded that those behind these acts face severe consequences. This underscored the necessity for improved security measures.

Twelve security officers and ten civilians died as a result of six terror attacks that have occurred in the Jammu region since June 9. A large-scale search and neutralization effort has been launched in the region's hilly areas in response to the concerning increase in violence.

A joint squad of the 10 Rashtriya Rifles and the J&K Police's Special Operations Group was investigating specific intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists in Dhari Gote Urarbagi in the Desa area of Doda on Monday, July 15, during one such search operation. The extremists launched a fierce attack on the squad, which tragically resulted in the deaths of many members.

The security forces have been placed on high alert due to the ongoing violence in Jammu and Kashmir. Although there has been insurgent activity in the area for many years, current developments have made thorough security measures even more necessary.
