The Delhi Police Crime Branch arrested a 25-year-old man, Kuldeep, who was wanted for rape. After running away for a long time, he was caught in Surat, Gujarat, about 1,500 km away from Delhi. The police had started a search for him and even issued a notice to find him. On December 16, the police received a tip-off about where he was hiding, and they arrested him.
Kuldeep had befriended the victim, a woman working in Bagwan Pura, Delhi. He earned her trust, then secretly put a drug in her drink, which made her lose control. He took advantage of her while she was unconscious, sexually assaulted her, and took pictures and videos of the attack. Kuldeep then used these photos and videos to blackmail her, forcing her to have sex with him again.
The woman bravely reported what happened, and the police started an investigation. Kuldeep, who is from Deoria in Uttar Pradesh, had been living in Delhi for a few years and worked as a welder. The police also found the phone that Kuldeep used to store the photos and videos for blackmail.
