Delhi experienced heavy rainfall accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorms. High-speed winds ranging from 40 to 70 km/hr were reported by the India Meteorological Department. These adverse weather conditions are expected to persist for the coming days.
This change was also seen in some adjoining areas near Delhi. This even affected flight operations at Delhi Airport. The airport has advised passengers to contact their respective airlines for information. To mitigate the disruptions, many flights en route to Delhi have diverted to Jaipur.
The morning updates issued by IMD revealed the presence of a cluster of clouds passing through the Delhi-NCR. In the light of bad weather, IMD has advised basic precautions to be followed. These include unplugging electrical appliances, avoiding taking shelter under trees and keeping a safe distance from good conductors of electricity.
Meanwhile, the southern part of India also faced heavy rainfall in recent days.
In Kerala, a yellow alert was issued for three districts, signaling the possibility of further heavy rain. On the other hand, Bengaluru remained on high alert after waterlogging on roads.
It is crucial for individuals to adhere to the guidelines provided by the India Meteorological Department and local authorities. This will ensure their safety and minimize the impact of these weather events.
