Delhi’s air quality continues to be a major concern, as it remains in the 'very poor' category. On Monday morning, the Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded a troubling 313, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

Alarming AQI Levels Across Delhi Several areas in the city are facing hazardous air pollution. Some of the most affected areas include:

  • Anand Vihar: AQI 357
  • Ashok Vihar: AQI 335
  • Vivek Vihar: AQI 359 (highest in the city) Other areas like Jahangirpuri, Punjabi Bagh, Patparganj, and Wazirpur also reported AQI levels between 322 and 347, indicating very poor air quality.

Yellow Alert for Dense Fog The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for dense fog, warning that reduced visibility could cause disruptions across the national capital. The weather is expected to remain cloudy with light rain or drizzle in the coming days, which may further worsen the air quality.

Health Risks and Precautions People in Delhi, especially those in high AQI areas, are advised to avoid outdoor activities and take necessary precautions to protect their health. The government has urged residents to stay indoors as much as possible and use air purifiers to reduce exposure to harmful pollutants.

With the situation continuing to worsen, urgent measures are needed to address the city’s air pollution crisis.
