The family of Disha Salian, former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, has approached the Bombay High Court seeking a fresh investigation into her death. Disha was found dead in June 2020, and her father, Satish Salian, now demands an FIR and a CBI probe into the case.
Why Disha Salian’s Father Moved the Court
According to PTI, Satish Salian has urged the court to register a case against Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray and transfer the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). His lawyer, Nilesh Ojha, stated that they are in the process of officially filing the petition.
Allegations of a Cover-Up
The petition claims that Disha was brutally murdered and that the case was covered up to protect influential people. It further alleges that Mumbai Police hastily closed the case as a suicide or accidental death without considering forensic evidence, circumstantial proof, or eyewitness testimonies.
Shiv Sena (UBT) Responds to the Allegations
Shiv Sena (UBT) has questioned why the case is being brought up after nearly five years. Party spokesperson Kishori Pednekar suspects a conspiracy behind the fresh plea. She stated that a CID inquiry and an SIT probe had already been conducted in the case.
Disha Salian and Sushant Singh Rajput’s Deaths
Disha passed away on June 8, 2020, after reportedly falling from the 14th floor of a building in Malad, Mumbai. Just days later, on June 14, 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Bandra apartment. While Mumbai Police initially ruled it as a suicide, the case was later transferred to the CBI.
With new demands for an investigation, the case has once again sparked public and political debates.
