A fire broke out early on Saturday morning, December 21, 2024, at the Sattva Knowledge City in Madhapur, Hyderabad. The fire started around 6:10 a.m. on the fifth floor of the building, causing a lot of smoke to spread in the area. Fortunately, the building was empty at the time, so there were no injuries or deaths.
The building, located in the HITEC City area, has restaurants, a bar, and a gym. The fire started on the fourth floor and spread to other areas. The security staff noticed the smoke and quickly called the fire department.
Four fire engines were sent to the scene from Madhapur, Kukatpally, and Vattinagulapally. They also used a special lift called a Bronto Skylift to help fight the fire. Firefighters worked quickly to put out the flames and prevent it from spreading further.
Early reports suggest the fire might have been caused by an electrical short circuit, but the exact cause is still being investigated.
A spokesperson for the Sattva Group praised the fast action of the fire department and the company’s safety team. "The fire was detected early and put out quickly, thanks to our emergency response team and the fire department. We are investigating the cause and will continue to monitor the situation," they said.
The spokesperson also assured everyone that operations at Knowledge City are continuing as normal, and the company remains committed to safety.
The Fire Services Department said their quick response helped limit the damage, and the full extent of the damage will be checked once the building is safe.
