The investigation syndicated by the Enforcement Directorate against illegal betting apps and subsequent raids on Mahadev Book in Chhatisgarh revealed the app’s unlawful operations.
The owners of Mahadev Book are facing legal action under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) for alleged money laundering offenses.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has accused Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel of benefiting from the Mahadev app scandal, alleging that a cash courier, Asim Das, was carrying funds for the political executives in Chhattisgarh, with Baghel named as the intended recipient.

Das claimed that he had received the cash from the Mahadev app's management, particularly Shubham Soni (alias Pintu), and was instructed to hand it over to the Chief Minister's associates. The ED pointed out that forensic and digital evidence from Das's phone supports his allegations.
In response, Baghel accused the ED of tarnishing his image ahead of the state assembly polls and accused the central government of using investigative agencies against the Congress.
