Security measures have been significantly increased, particularly in areas with a Jewish population and key Jewish establishments. Authorities are reviewing and reinforcing the safety of Israeli diplomats, staff, and tourists in the wake of this incident.

The Delhi Police, in collaboration with intelligence agencies, are taking all potential threats seriously and have bolstered security around all embassies. Previous incidents targeting the Israeli embassy in 2012 and 2021 have led to a more vigilant approach by law enforcement.

The recent explosion near the Israel embassy on Tuesday evening prompted a swift response from Delhi Police, resulting in heightened security in areas with Jewish communities, markets, and crucial installations.

"There is a concern that certain groups may target Chabad houses, Jewish community centers, and other significant Jewish sites in Delhi. Accordingly, comprehensive arrangements are being put in place," stated an official, emphasizing the ongoing review of security for Israeli diplomats and visitors.

Authorities have emphasized the close coordination between the special cell and intelligence agencies, ensuring that all information and inputs are treated with utmost seriousness. Security measures have been reinforced around various embassies in the city.

"In an abundance of caution, we have increased the presence of uniformed officers at major gatherings and cultural sites to prioritize public safety. Additionally, religious centers have been advised to enhance security measures, including restricted access, surveillance through cameras and alarms, perimeter checks, and screening of mail and packages," noted an intelligence establishment official.

The cautious approach of law enforcement stems from past incidents, notably in 2012 and 2021, where the Israeli embassy and its personnel were targeted in Delhi.

The incident on January 29, 2021, involved a low-intensity blast outside the Israeli embassy during the Beating Retreat ceremony on Kartavya Path. Despite investigations, the case remains unsolved. Several individuals were detained, but their involvement couldn't be definitively established, despite evidence suggesting their presence near the site.

Similarly, in the blast on February 13, 2012, an assailant placed an improvised explosive device on an Israeli diplomat's vehicle, injuring the diplomat's wife. The attacker had conducted groundwork in India before executing the attack and left the country the same day. These incidents have propelled authorities to intensify security measures, taking proactive steps to ensure the safety of all potential targets and the broader public in Delhi.
