India has expressed strong concern over a security breach during External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar's visit to the United Kingdom. A pro-Khalistan extremist broke through security barriers and tore the Indian flag in front of the minister’s convoy. The incident, captured on video, has since gone viral.
MEA Strongly Condemns the Incident
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) condemned the actions of the extremist group. In an official statement, the MEA said, “We condemn the provocative activities of this small group of separatists and extremists.” The MEA also called for the host government to ensure security during such visits.
“We deplore the misuse of democratic freedoms by such elements,” the statement added, urging the UK to uphold its diplomatic responsibilities.

What Happened?
The incident took place on Wednesday evening, after Jaishankar finished an event at Chatham House in London. A protester ran towards the minister’s car, taking advantage of a moment when security was less focused. The protester tore the Indian flag while shouting pro-Khalistani slogans. Police quickly intervened and removed the protester and others from the scene.
Another video showed pro-Khalistan supporters protesting outside Chatham House, waving flags and chanting slogans.

Jaishankar’s Visit to the UK
Jaishankar’s visit, which began on March 4, is aimed at strengthening India-UK relations. The discussions are focused on trade, technology, education, and other areas of cooperation. During his visit, Jaishankar also addressed the Kashmir issue, firmly rejecting any third-party involvement in resolving it. He emphasized that the unresolved issue is the territory occupied by Pakistan and expressed hope that it will be resolved soon.
