Indian Railways will release a new train timetable on January 1, 2025. This will be the 44th edition of the "Trains at a Glance" (TAG) timetable. The current timetable will continue to be used until December 31, 2024. TAG gives important details about train schedules, stations, routes, and ticket policies, helping people plan their travels.

The current TAG was released in October 2024 and is available on the Indian Railways website. The new timetable will have updated train schedules for the year 2025. In 2025, Indian Railways plans to introduce several new services. These include the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail (Vande Metro), Amrit Bharat Express trains, and more Vande Bharat Express trains, which are high-speed trains.

Last year, Indian Railways started 70 new train services and added 64 Vande Bharat trains to improve comfort for passengers.

In addition to the new timetable, Indian Railways is also preparing for the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025. The IRCTC, part of Indian Railways, is making arrangements for millions of pilgrims attending the event. They will run over 3,000 special trains and provide shelter for more than 100,000 people.

IRCTC has also built a luxury tent city near Triveni Sangam for the visitors. People can book stays at this tent city online from January 10 to February 28, 2025. Bookings can be done through the IRCTC website or the Mahakumbh App.

These efforts by Indian Railways will make travel easier and more comfortable for everyone.
