Initially aiming for a breakthrough on Thursday, rescuers encountered an unexpected lattice steel girder arch after clearing 45 meters of the estimated 60-meter stretch of debris. Bhaskar Khulbe, an official engaged in the tunnel project, revealed that it took approximately six hours to remove this obstacle.

Khulbe expressed a cautiously optimistic estimate, suggesting that an additional 14 to 15 hours might be needed to clear the remaining debris unless unforeseen challenges arise. Acknowledging the uncertainty ahead, he mentioned that while the structure isn't solid rock, the team remains vigilant for potential metal or rock obstacles.
