PM Modi visits Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj, takes a holy dip at Triveni Sangam, and prays for India’s well-being at the world’s largest spiritual gathering.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, where he took a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam, the sacred meeting point of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers. During the visit, PM Modi held rudraksha beads and chanted mantras while offering prayers in the holy river.

Sharing his experience on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi expressed the peace and satisfaction he felt after bathing in the Sangam, saying he prayed for the happiness, health, and well-being of all people in India. The Mahakumbh Mela is a huge spiritual event, attracting millions of pilgrims from across the world.

The Mahakumbh Mela began on January 13 and will continue until February 26, 2025. It is the world's largest spiritual and cultural gathering, with over 38 crore people attending so far.

Before attending the Mahakumbh, PM Modi also inaugurated 167 development projects worth ₹5,500 crore in Prayagraj, aimed at improving infrastructure, services, and amenities for both locals and pilgrims.

In addition, King Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuk of Bhutan visited Prayagraj to join the Mahakumbh celebrations. He visited the Digital Mahakumbh Experience Centre and offered prayers at the Lete Hanuman Mandir alongside Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The Mahakumbh Mela continues to be an important event, not only for spiritual reasons but also as a symbol of India's rich cultural heritage, attracting millions from all over the world.
